As Stobox Token (STBU) consolidates onto a single canonical contract on Base, trading of STBU on the MEXC exchange will wind down this week. This is a planned step in the migration we’re running to bring STBU onto one chain — and it matters most to anyone who currently holds STBU on MEXC. If that’s you, the action is simple and time-sensitive: withdraw your STBU from MEXC to a wallet you control, then migrate it 1:1. Below is what’s changing, what the migration is, how it works, and exactly what to do.
If you hold STBU on MEXC — do this now
- Withdraw your STBU from MEXC to a self-custody wallet you fully control, before trading and withdrawals wind down this week.
- Then migrate it 1:1 to Base at stbu.stobox.io before 15 September 2026.
- The migration runs from wallets you control, so tokens on the exchange need to be withdrawn first to be migrated.
Why trading on MEXC is winding down
Stobox is in the middle of a token migration. STBU has lived on four separate blockchains — Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, and Arbitrum — and we are consolidating all of it onto one canonical, verified contract on Base. We announced this in full detail in One STBU, One Chain: Stobox Token Is Live on Base, and it’s the single most important thing happening to the token right now.
The migration works through an on-chain burn-and-mint process: holders permanently retire (“burn”) their old STBU, and claim the same amount of new STBU on Base, 1:1. That mechanism runs from wallets holders control — so the tokens can be burned and the matching claim credited.
That’s simply a different model from how a centralized exchange holds a token. MEXC custodies STBU on behalf of its users; individual holders don’t control the underlying wallet, so those tokens can’t be burned directly through the migration. To keep the migration clean and consistent for everyone, STBU trading on MEXC is being paused for the duration.
Winding down trading on MEXC this week moves those tokens back into holders’ own hands, where they can be withdrawn and migrated the same way as everyone else’s. It’s the straightforward path through a migration that is already well underway — and we expect to revisit STBU’s availability on MEXC once the migration to Base completes after 15 September 2026. For now, the priority is making sure every holder can migrate smoothly.
What the STBU migration is
If you’re new to this, here’s the short version. Until now STBU has been spread across four blockchains. In practice that means fragmented liquidity, four contracts to track, and four sets of gas and bridging assumptions. The migration brings everything onto one canonical STBU contract on Base — Ethereum’s leading Layer 2.
A few things to be clear about:
- It is 1:1. One old STBU becomes exactly one new STBU. Nothing is skimmed in between.
- It is free. There is no migration fee — you only pay ordinary network gas for your own transactions. Anyone asking for a “fee” or an “unlock payment” is running a scam.
- It is not a new token. It is the same STBU, the same project, and the same value — just consolidated onto better infrastructure. There is no “STBU 2.0.”
- It is non-custodial. Stobox never takes custody of your tokens at any point.

How the migration works — three steps
A token can’t teleport between blockchains. To move STBU to Base without ever double-counting supply, the old token is first taken permanently out of circulation, and then the same amount is minted fresh on Base. A useful way to picture it: exchanging an old series of banknotes for a new one — the old notes are withdrawn, and you receive the exact same value in the new ones.
In plain language:
- Withdraw your STBU from MEXC. Move it into a self-custody wallet you personally control. This is the step the wind-down calls for, and it’s the one that matters for MEXC holders: the migration runs from tokens that sit in your own wallet.
- Burn your old STBU. At the official portal, stbu.stobox.io, you send your old tokens to a public burn address that nobody owns and nobody can ever spend from. This permanently retires them, and your burn transaction becomes your public on-chain receipt. Stobox never holds your tokens.
- Claim your new STBU on Base — 1:1. From 15 September 2026 you mint the exact same amount of brand-new STBU directly to your own wallet on Base.
Where the migration stands today
The migration is not a plan — it’s already happening. Burns to the official burn address have been counting on-chain since the token went live on Base, and the guided migration portal opened on 20 July 2026.
As of now, roughly 47.89 million STBU — about 48 million tokens — has already been migrated, burned across the four original chains by 47 unique wallets, all of it credited toward the 1:1 claim on Base. The burn window stays open until 15 September 2026, 00:00 UTC, which is the same instant claiming opens on Base.
- ~47.89M STBU already migrated — burned across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, and Arbitrum by 47 wallets.
- Portal open since 20 July 2026: burn now at stbu.stobox.io and watch your eligible balance grow.
- 15 Sep 2026, 00:00 UTC: the cutover — burning closes and claiming on Base opens, at the same instant.
Because the burn deadline and the claim opening are the same instant, the simplest and safest plan is to burn early and claim on or after 15 September. Don’t leave it to the final hours — and if your tokens are on MEXC, withdraw them well before trading winds down.
Stay safe
Migrations are exactly the moments scammers try to exploit. A few rules keep you safe:
- Only ever migrate at stbu.stobox.io. Bookmark it and use the bookmark.
- Stobox will never DM you first and will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
- There is no fee to migrate. Anyone asking for a “fee,” “activation,” or “unlock payment” is running a scam.
- Withdraw to a wallet you control — never to an address someone sends you in a message.
What to do next
If you hold STBU on MEXC, the clock is the only thing to mind, and it’s an easy one to beat: withdraw your STBU from MEXC to your own wallet this week, before trading and withdrawals wind down. Then migrate it 1:1 to Base, the same way tens of millions of STBU already have.
