Builders who were right before the market.
Eight years building the infrastructure for real-world asset tokenization — while the rest of the industry was still deciding whether it mattered. 62 verified milestones. 7 eras. One continuous thesis.
Real-world assets will move on-chain. The infrastructure needs to exist first.
Founded 2018 in Kyiv by Gene Deyev, Ross Shemeliak, and Borys Pikalov on a single conviction: the technology to tokenize real-world assets already existed — the legal, compliance, and distribution infrastructure to do it correctly did not.
Eight years later, that thesis reads as obvious. In 2018 it did not. This page is the record of what it took to be right before the market — 62 verified milestones across 7 eras, every one linked to a primary source.
- 01Every milestone verified against a published article
- 02Filterable by category — company, product, case, partnership, regulatory
- 03Each era linked to external events — bear markets, FTX, MiCA, the rise of RWA
From the thesis nobody believed in to the industry standard.
A condensed view of the seven eras. The full timeline, with all 62 milestones and primary sources, renders below.
Genesis
Stobox is founded in Kyiv as a turn-key tokenization services provider. DS Dashboard v1 launches in 2019 as the first end-to-end STO platform in the world. DS Swap follows in 2020 — the first DEX for security tokens.
First proof
STBU lists on Gate.io. Stobox joins the Crypto Valley Association in Switzerland and expands to Dubai. The Stobox STO launches with STBX issued — the company practising what it sells.
Building through the winter
Candela Project STO in Tulum. Farmland Assets STO — a $30M tokenization. Stobox DAO launches. DS Dashboard V3 ships, and Sumsub KYC integrates — while the rest of crypto retreats.
Identity & Protocol
Blockstream MoU signed. Soulbound ID launches in Vietnam — the on-chain identity layer that becomes Stobox Decentralized ID. The corporate restructure backs STBX with real equity, and the VASP process under MiCA begins in November.
Stobox 4 era begins
Stobox Academy opens at the Qatar Financial Centre. Fireblocks Embedded Wallets integrate. Stobox 4 is officially introduced. Plume Network partnership; Stobox 4 Beta debuts at Web Summit Lisbon. VASP license secured in Poland under EU MiCA — passportable across all 27 member states.
Regulated infrastructure
Qatar operating license secured. STV3 Protocol unveiled — on-chain compliance engine on Arbitrum One. SEC Crypto Task Force roundtable participation in Washington. ERC-7943 co-founded as the institutional RWA standard. Monerys AG STO — Switzerland’s first blockchain bank. ZGrowth — Canada’s first regulated stablecoin issuer.
Institutional grade
STBX launches as an equity-backed digital asset. Canton Network partnership lands Stobox-issued RWA tokens directly into the institutional DeFi layer used by Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, DTCC, and Cboe. tZERO digital securities partnership. Silicon Prairie — the licensed U.S. broker-dealer/ATS partnership — closes the U.S. distribution stack.
The vocabulary of regulated tokenization.
Every term referenced on this page — defined in plain language for entity-level clarity.
Real-world asset (RWA) tokenization
The process of creating a blockchain-based digital token that represents ownership, a claim, or economic rights in a physical or legal asset — real estate, private equity, debt instruments, commodities, funds, natural resources, aviation, or similar. Stobox has operated as a regulated RWA tokenization infrastructure provider since 2018.
Security token offering (STO)
A regulated capital-raising event in which an issuer sells tokenized securities to investors under applicable securities law. STOs differ from ICOs in that the resulting tokens are explicitly classified and structured as regulated securities and inherit investor protections, disclosure requirements, and transfer restrictions under law.
Stobox 4
The fourth-generation end-to-end tokenization platform from Stobox Technologies. Officially introduced in September 2024 and hardened in Release 1.9 (July 2025). Stobox 4 handles issuance, investor onboarding, KYC/AML, cap table management, secondary trading, and compliance automation as a single white-labeled platform, powering every current Stobox client.
STV3 Protocol
Stobox’s on-chain compliance protocol unveiled in March 2025. STV3 enforces transfer restrictions, whitelists, jurisdiction blocklists, and lockup periods at the smart-contract level using the EIP-2535 Diamond Standard. Deployed on Arbitrum One, it is the compliance engine inside every Stobox 4 issuance.
ERC-7943
An Ethereum Request for Comments standard for institutional real-world asset tokenization, co-founded by Stobox in September 2025. ERC-7943 defines a shared interface for compliant RWA tokens so that wallets, DEXes, custodians, and DeFi protocols that adopt the standard interoperate with any conforming token out of the box.
VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider)
A legal category defined by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and adopted by the European Union’s MiCA regulation. A VASP is an entity authorized to provide regulated digital asset services — exchange, custody, transfer, or issuance. Stobox secured its VASP license in Poland in November 2024 under MiCA.
MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation)
The European Union regulation establishing the unified legal framework for digital asset service providers across all 27 EU member states. MiCA is the dominant European regulatory regime for crypto assets and digital securities. Stobox’s Polish VASP license is passportable across the EU under MiCA.
Stobox Decentralized ID (Soulbound ID)
Stobox’s third proprietary product: a non-transferable on-chain identity credential that encodes KYC status, accreditation, and jurisdiction. Originally launched as Soulbound ID from the Success Summit main stage in Vietnam, April 2023. It powers compliant secondary trading of security tokens without exposing investor personal data on-chain.
STBX
Stobox’s equity-backed digital asset representing direct ownership in the Stobox companies group. STBX launched in February 2026 following the 2023 corporate restructure that backed the token with real equity and the STBU→STBX migration that began in December 2025.
Arbitrum One
The leading Ethereum Layer-2 rollup, known for deep institutional DeFi liquidity. Stobox runs its STV3 Protocol and the bulk of its RWA infrastructure on Arbitrum One, expanded in January 2026.
Canton Network
The privacy-enabled institutional blockchain used by Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, DTCC, and Cboe Global Markets. Stobox partnered with Canton in March 2026 to bring Stobox-issued RWA tokens directly into the institutional DeFi layer.
tZERO · Silicon Prairie
Two licensed U.S. digital securities infrastructure providers Stobox partners with for regulated U.S. distribution and secondary trading. tZERO is one of the leading U.S. digital securities Alternative Trading Systems (ATS) — partnership announced March 2026. Silicon Prairie is a licensed U.S. broker-dealer and ATS for private securities — partnership announced April 2026.
